Steve Wynn and Tom Fazio's built-from-scratch forest in the North Las Vegas desert, now open only to MGM Resorts hotel guests at one of America's highest green fees.

Shadow Creek began as Steve Wynn's private course. He and Tom Fazio took 350 acres of flat desert in North Las Vegas and spent roughly $60 million moving earth, planting trees and building creeks and lakes, so that from inside the property the desert and the city drop out of view. It opened in 1989 and now belongs to MGM Resorts.

Fazio framed the holes with pines and water, producing a self-contained, parkland feel unlike anything around it. A 2008 redesign added length. The finishing pair, a waterfall-backed par 3 and a par 5 that crosses water twice, show the course's love of spectacle. Access is tightly limited to MGM hotel guests, with limousine transport and a caddie built into the fee. It hosted the first Tiger vs. Phil match in 2018 and the 2020 CJ Cup, its first official PGA Tour event.
