Akshay Bhatia

Akshay Bhatia was born in Northridge, California, to parents from Delhi, and moved to Wake Forest, North Carolina, as a child. A slender left-hander, he was a standout junior who played on winning Junior Presidents Cup and Junior Ryder Cup teams, won two silver medals at the 2018 Youth Olympics and became the youngest player on a U.S. Walker Cup team in 2019.

Rather than go to college, he turned professional at 17 in 2019, and his rise was gradual. He won a Korn Ferry Tour event in his first start as a member in 2022, then earned temporary PGA Tour membership with a runner-up finish in Puerto Rico in 2023. Later that summer he took the Barracuda Championship in a playoff for his first PGA Tour title.

In 2024 he won the Valero Texas Open in another playoff, earning his first Masters start a decade after reaching the Drive, Chip and Putt finals at Augusta. His biggest win so far came at Bay Hill in 2026, where he claimed the Arnold Palmer Invitational for his third PGA Tour title and his first victory in a signature event.
