Alex Noren

Alex Norén was born in Stockholm and started golf at four at Haninge Golf Club. He represented Sweden at every amateur level, including a bronze-medal Eisenhower Trophy team in 2004, and played college golf at Oklahoma State. He turned pro at the end of 2005, won on the Challenge Tour as a rookie, and graduated to the European Tour for 2007.

His first European Tour title came at the 2009 European Masters, and he built a long résumé from there, with a hot 2016 that included the Scottish Open, British Masters, and Nedbank Golf Challenge. He won the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth in 2017 and the French Open in 2018, and he played on Europe's winning 2018 Ryder Cup team.

Norén is a steady, patient ball-striker who has stayed competitive into his forties. After a late start to 2025, he won the British Masters for a second time and then beat Adrien Saddier in a playoff for another BMW PGA title, before serving as a European vice-captain at Bethpage. He now splits time between the PGA Tour and DP World Tour and sits 21st in the world.
