Weeks at No. 1

Brooks Koepka grew up in Lake Worth, Florida, and was a three-time All-American at Florida State. Rather than chase U.S. status after turning pro in 2012, he headed to Europe's Challenge Tour, where three wins in 2013 earned a promotion. He won the 2014 Turkish Airlines Open and was named the European Tour's rookie of the year.

He won his first PGA Tour event at the 2015 Phoenix Open, then went on a historic run in the majors: back-to-back U.S. Opens in 2017 and 2018 and back-to-back PGA Championships in 2018 and 2019, reaching world No. 1. His power, physical strength, and composure under pressure made him the most feared player in big events during that stretch.

Koepka joined LIV Golf in 2022, won five LIV events, and became the first LIV player to win a major at the 2023 PGA Championship, his fifth major and third PGA. He left LIV at the end of 2025 and returned to the PGA Tour in 2026, but struggled to find form, missing the FedEx Cup Playoffs. He is currently ranked 108th.
