Collin Morikawa

Collin Morikawa played college golf at California-Berkeley, winning five times and briefly reaching No. 1 in the world amateur ranking in 2018. He also won a string of top amateur events, including the Western Junior and Sunnehanna Amateur, and was part of a winning U.S. Walker Cup team in 2017.

He turned pro in 2019 and made his first 22 cuts as a professional, a run bettered only by Tiger Woods. He won the 2020 PGA Championship at Harding Park in his first try and the 2021 Open at Royal St George's in his debut there too. Later in 2021 he won the DP World Tour Championship and became the first American to top the Race to Dubai.

Morikawa's game is built on precise iron play, with a controlled, repeatable ball flight that keeps him near the top of approach-shot statistics. He added the 2023 Zozo Championship, posted the low 72-hole total at the 2024 Tour Championship and won the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am by a stroke in February 2026.
