Joaquin Niemann

Joaquin Niemann grew up in Chile in a sporting family, with a father who played college basketball and a mother who played field hockey for the national team. He was swinging plastic clubs around the house as a toddler and moved to Santiago as a teen to train. He held the No. 1 spot in the world amateur ranking for 44 weeks and won the 2018 Latin America Amateur.

After playing the 2018 Masters as an amateur, he turned pro and earned his PGA Tour card without any Korn Ferry starts. In 2019 he won A Military Tribute at The Greenbrier, becoming the first Chilean PGA Tour winner, and in 2022 he took the Genesis Invitational at Riviera by two shots over Collin Morikawa and Cameron Young.

Niemann joined LIV Golf later in 2022 and captains Torque GC. He shot 59 on the way to winning LIV Mayakoba in 2024, has also won the Australian Open and the Saudi International, and added LIV titles in Korea and New York in 2026. He tied for seventh at the 2026 U.S. Open.
