Jon Rahm

Jon Rahm comes from Barrika in Spain's Basque Country. His parents took up golf after Seve Ballesteros captained Europe to victory at the 1997 Ryder Cup at Valderrama, and Rahm credits that event for his career. Born with a clubfoot, he has limited mobility in his right ankle, which he says shaped his famously short backswing. He played football and other sports before focusing on golf at 13.

At Arizona State he became the first player to win the Ben Hogan Award twice and spent a then-record 60 weeks as the world's top amateur. He turned pro in 2016 and won on both the PGA Tour and European Tour the next year, later reaching world No. 1. In 2021 he became the first Spaniard to win the U.S. Open, and he added a green jacket at the 2023 Masters.

Rahm left the PGA Tour for LIV Golf in December 2023 and captains the Legion XIII team. He has led the LIV season points list three straight years, and in 2026 he won LIV events in Hong Kong and Mexico City and finished runner-up at the PGA Championship. A fiery competitor with a powerful, compact swing, he has been a key part of Europe's Ryder Cup wins.
