Weeks at No. 1

Justin Thomas grew up in Louisville, Kentucky, the son of a longtime club professional at Harmony Landing Country Club. He made the cut at the 2009 Wyndham Championship at just 16, then starred at Alabama, winning the Haskins and Jack Nicklaus awards as a freshman and helping the Crimson Tide to the 2013 national title before turning pro that summer.

He worked through the Web.com Tour, won his first PGA Tour event at the 2015 CIMB Classic in Malaysia, and broke out in 2017 with five wins, his first PGA Championship, and the FedEx Cup. He reached world No. 1 in 2018, won The Players in 2021, and took a second PGA Championship at Southern Hills in 2022.

Thomas is a creative shotmaker known for his sharp wedge play and aggressive iron game. After two lean seasons dropped him out of the world's top 30, he returned to form at the 2025 RBC Heritage, opening with a record-tying 61 and winning in a playoff. A regular on U.S. Ryder Cup and Presidents Cup teams, he is ranked 27th in the world.
