Ludvig Åberg

Ludvig Åberg grew up in Eslöv in southern Sweden, picked up the game at eight at the local club, and gave up football at 13 to concentrate on golf. He attended a sports high school in Helsingborg and in 2019 moved to Lubbock to play for Texas Tech, where he won the Ben Hogan Award twice and turned down a lucrative early offer from LIV Golf to finish his college career.

He left Texas Tech as the world's top-ranked amateur and earned his PGA Tour card in June 2023 by topping the first PGA Tour University rankings. Within months he had won the European Masters, played on Europe's winning Ryder Cup team, and taken the RSM Classic with a 29-under total that tied the tour's 72-hole scoring record. He finished second to Scottie Scheffler in his first major, the 2024 Masters.

Tall, powerful, and unusually calm, Åberg pairs long, straight driving with precise iron play. He won the 2025 Genesis Invitational with a closing birdie and later that year was the only European to win his singles match at the Bethpage Ryder Cup, beating Patrick Cantlay. He plays both the PGA Tour and DP World Tour and is ranked 18th in the world.
