Russell Henley

Russell Henley is from Macon, Georgia, and played four years of college golf at the University of Georgia, where he won the 2010 Haskins Award as the top collegiate player. While still an amateur in 2011 he won a Nationwide Tour event on his college home course in Athens, becoming only the second amateur to win on that circuit, and he represented the U.S. in the Walker Cup.

He turned pro later that year, won twice on the Web.com Tour in 2012, and opened his PGA Tour career by winning the 2013 Sony Open in his first start as a member, setting the tournament scoring record at 24 under. Playoff wins at the 2014 Honda Classic and a final-round charge at the 2017 Houston Open followed, as did the 2022 title at Mayakoba.

Henley is a precise, low-mistake player whose ball-striking and putting have carried him into the world's top ten in his mid-thirties. He came from three back with five to play to win the 2025 Arnold Palmer Invitational, chipping in for eagle on the 16th, and closed with four straight birdies, including one in a playoff, to win the 2026 Charles Schwab Challenge. He is ranked sixth in the world.
