Scottie Scheffler was born in New Jersey and moved with his family to Dallas at age six, where he grew up at Royal Oaks Country Club under coach Randy Smith, who remains his only swing teacher. As a junior he dominated the North Texas circuit, then played college golf at the University of Texas before turning professional in 2018 and grinding through Korn Ferry Tour qualifying.

His game is built on elite ball-striking: above-average length paired with rare accuracy, delivered through a distinctive sliding footwork pattern that golf media has nicknamed the Scheffler shuffle. He tends to swing well within himself off the tee and rarely gives away shots, which explains a long run of made cuts that ended only in mid-2026.

Scheffler holds four majors: the 2022 and 2024 Masters, plus the 2025 PGA Championship and 2025 Open. He also won Olympic gold in Paris and back-to-back Players titles in 2023 and 2024. Still world No. 1, he added the 2026 American Express, FedEx St. Jude Championship and Tour Championship to a career total of 26 ranking wins.
