Viktor Hovland

Viktor Hovland took up golf at eleven in Norway after his father caught the bug while working in the United States. He won the Norwegian Amateur at 16, played college golf at Oklahoma State, and in 2018 became the first Norwegian to win the U.S. Amateur. The following spring he was low amateur at both the Masters and U.S. Open.

He turned professional in mid-2019 and became the first Norwegian winner on both the PGA Tour and European Tour. Hovland is a powerful, technically minded ball-striker who has spent years rebuilding his short game and swing, and he has been part of three European Ryder Cup teams, including the winning sides in 2023 and 2025.

His best stretch came in 2023, when he won the Memorial, the BMW Championship and the Tour Championship to claim the FedEx Cup. After a slump, he returned to form with the 2025 Valspar Championship and beat Scottie Scheffler with a birdie on the first extra hole of a Monday playoff at the 2026 Travelers Championship in Connecticut.
