Xander Schauffele

Xander Schauffele was raised in San Diego by a Taiwanese-born mother and a German-French father, a former decathlete whose career ended in a car accident. His father introduced him to golf at nine and was his only swing coach until 2023, teaching him through ball-flight principles rather than video. He played college golf at Long Beach State and San Diego State.

He turned professional in 2015 and won the Tour Championship as a rookie in 2017. Schauffele is an all-around player without an obvious weakness, steady off the tee, sharp with his irons and calm under pressure. He won Olympic gold in Tokyo in 2021 and has been a regular on U.S. Presidents Cup and Ryder Cup teams.

His major breakthrough came in 2024, when he won the PGA Championship at Valhalla and then the Open at Royal Troon two months later. Other wins include the 2022 Travelers Championship, the 2022 Scottish Open and the 2025 Baycurrent Classic in Japan, where his mother grew up and where he still has family. He ranks inside the world's top ten.
