Tom Fazio's 2007 mountain course on a forested peninsula above Lake Coeur d'Alene, with black rock outcroppings, rugged bunkers and two drivable par 4s.

Gozzer Ranch is a private golf and lake community near Harrison in the Idaho Panhandle, set on a wooded, elevated peninsula on the east side of Lake Coeur d'Alene. Tom Fazio designed the course, which opened in 2007 and was named Golf Digest's Best New Private Course for 2008. It was the first 18-hole Fazio design in Idaho. Play is reserved for members of the surrounding community and their guests, and the lake comes into view from several holes, part of what reviewers rank it so highly for.

The holes move through ponderosa pine and across black basalt outcrops, with large elevation changes and several views down to the lake. Fazio's ragged-edged bunkers frame the targets, and the routing mixes in two short, drivable par 4s, the 4th and 12th, along with a set of par 3s that reviewers single out, including the 7th, built into a bowl of rock. Many panelists rate the back nine as the stronger half.
